Diversity of the staff & students
The construction on campus made the building a little difficult to find.
When I entered the room, I was directed to sit at the opposite end of the conference table, which did not feel very welcoming. The one interviewer started the interview by stating that they were on a time crunch and they may cut me off while answering questions. I was frequently interrupted, even when I had just begun speaking, which made me uncomfortable.
The medical students were friendly.
SDN, reddit, rereading application
everyone was extremely nice
Virtual interview was pleasant, student ambassadors were really honest and helpful. They have students from both campuses if you're still deciding between the two.
Admissions committee seemed a bit disorganized, like they weren't even sure themselves what was going on for the virtual interview. I got the impression they were winging it.
Adcom, student ambassadors, and interviewers seemed very warm, friendly, and laid back.
Read up on Nova's mission statement/objectives from their website
Great school. Some students marched into neurosurg last year. Very upfront with their mission and their expectations. Really seem to care a lot about their students.
How at ease the whole staff made us feel throughout the day.
Grading system for some classes but p/f for others. Not really a negative I think.
Their emphasis on global outreach and how happy the students seemed to be (vast majority without raccoon eyes).
Checked SDN the day before and had my gf ask my the questions with feedback in between.
