Expect classic behavioral prompts plus “teaching” and a “final takeaway.” Have a concise “Why IllinoisCOM + how I found it” ready (mission fit, integrated behavioral/physical health, excitement about helping build a new school). Use STAR for teamwork/conflict; bring one simple concept you can “teach.” Prepare 2–3 thoughtful questions for them (curriculum integration with behavioral health, early clinical exposure, how student feedback shapes a new program).

Conversational, mission-aligned, and curious about my personal journey and communication style.

Practiced common interview questions as nothing was available on SDN.

Interviewed at IllinoisCOM (2025–26) — two conversational faculty interviews that were virtual. Questions included teamwork, what sparked my interest in medicine, handling conflict/differences, how I’d teach something, “Why IllinoisCOM/how I heard about it,” and a one-last-thing closer. Lots of follow-ups on my activities. Friendly vibe. Advice: prep a 30-sec closer, one teachable mini-topic, and STAR stories for teamwork/conflict. I asked about the integration of behavioral and physical health and student feedback into a new program. Overall, the interview was Conversational, mission-aligned, and curious about my personal journey and communication style.

They were just so nice. I even bonded a little with one of the interviewers over fantasy football lol

One interview with two people at the same time. Easily the nicest interview I've ever had. They made it super clear they wanted it to be chill. One of them said "imagine we're at a football game or we're talking over coffee"
